83 - Funky

I've been passing by this piece for years and finally took the time to check it out proper. I was mystified by the white light spots, didn't know how to tone them down in my settings, maybe impossible? I suppose I have to accept that my camera can't ix everything. Still a cool pic. :)

82 - Cheat tea

I got caught up on the 22nd, so here's a pic from 10 days ago. Now that the big project is done and I've processed all the pictures from the shoot, no more cheats aloud! Back to one a day, no exception.

I like this picture. I really enjoy playing off reflections. Next time it rains, I want to try to go outside and take pictures at night, get the reflections of light off the puddles.

81 - To be published?!

Another one of my fantastic models from my photo project. And it turns out this picture may be published in a special book or in a magazine. The details are a bit fuzzy, but it would be through a magazine that reports of celebrities in Quebec! Not bad for a first photo shoot!

80 - Gloomy sky

Here's another case of a picture that did not turn out at all like what I had in mind. The clouds were sweeping so quickly across the sky, the hue was a dark purple and the lights over downtown were super bright. I thought that with a long exposition, all of these elements would pop more, but they actually turned out duller than reality.

It's one of those scratch your head moments. I didn't experiment for long cause it was balls cold outside. Another time!

79 - Blues

More fun with filters, this one was full contrast. It's a complete coincidence that a person in a blue coat passed by at that moment and that that particular light ended up being blue. Sweet!

78 - Bus line

I'm trying to explore long exposure a bit more. This was taken on the street, just as a bus was passing by. I'll have to find a better spot to go try this out and experiment more!

77 - St-Patty's day laughs

I love this picture. The three people lined up all expressing laughter and just random fingers coming in. Awesome in the moment pic!

76 - Tryptich

My project!!!! I am so happy with how it turned out. My vision for all three pictures came out as good as I ever thought they would. Not perfect, but close!

The goal was to stage three quotations.
  1.  From Bertrand Russell: "The secret to happiness is to face the fact that the world is horrible." The pictures in white and black that you see behind my friend and reflected in the mirror are of mass murders, the famished, and so on.
  2. From Leonard Cohen: "There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." I think the picture speaks for itself. :)
  3. From Victor Hugo: "La femme a une puissance singulière qui se compose de la réalité de la force et de l'apparence de la faiblesse." Having a string women falter under a barbel of light, I don't think I could have expressed the quote any better!
I also wanted a common element between each picture, which ended up being a rose in a small bottle of champagne. Unfortunately, I completely forgot to include it in the third picture. Luckily, Photoshop fixed that!

I am thrilled with this project. I can't wait to start a new one!

75 - Movement

Another one of my beautiful models for my photo project. At first, I was disappointed with the soft focus, caused by her movement. But the more I looked at it the more I enjoy the effect. A beautiful picture of a beautiful lady!

74 - Green goddess

So the next 7-8 pictures are a bit out of whack in terms of dates. The photo project took a lot of processing and work so I did not end up taking a picture a day in the next week. I think I'm aloud a pass for this week, as I've spent over 12 hours in processing, and still have some to do!

I am so happy with my first ever photo shoot. It was such an amazing experience.

I am thrilled with the results.

This picture I find absolutely stunning. All this with the 30$ cloth, an Ikea lamp and some wine. More to come!

73 - Work of art

My man's new baby, one of a kind. The black lines in the wood are actually a mushroom that was growing in the wood. The makers used a special process to stop the mushrooms progress.

I was testing out my new black backdrop, a cheap 8 foot by 14 foot cloth I got for 30$! Almost time for the photo project!

72 - Reflections

This was taken during the Art Souterrain exposition going on in the underground city. Random art projects were setup along 7 km. This particular one was in the Tour de la Bourse.

71 - Glass tower

I think one of my best pictures yet. Again, long exposition (30 sec), aperture at f/11 and ISO 100. I cropped some of the picture at the top and bottom. So happy with it!!

70 - Light Painting!!!

Oh my, what did I say about my new toy? I absolutely love this picture.

All it took was a tripod, long exposition and a headlamp that I walked towards the camera while doing big circles. Amazing!

69 - Living room of the 80ies

Wow, just wow. Went to a party to a friend's parents place. And yeah, they still have a living room of the 80ies. Impressive.

68 - Unsuccessful

Yeah... Not a very good picture. I was going through a rut a bit, as I was preparing my first ever photo project.

It seems all my creative juices are being geared towards the project. Hopefully, it will work!

67 - Mysterious blues

Rumi Express, on St-Laurent. I liked the relation between the colors of the lamp and of the mosaic in the back.

Again, not a particularly impressive picture, but a year from now, I'll go back and will make it extraordinary!

66 - X-ray

More fun with filters. It's really cool what the reverse colors do to tattoos!

This will definitely be explored more.

65 - Hearing at long distances

I'm going to have so much fun with Mr. Potato Head. Here he is, listening at a distance at the bass. I played with some color filters, so here it was primed on Red, so only red-pinkish colors would come out. It's not perfect, but with the help of my trusty Potato, I'm sure I'll get this effect down pat!

64 - Curiosity

That face just makes me crack! It's not the best picture, it's out of focus, the lighting is wrong but that face is perfect.

63 - Tronanne

First experience in class with Light painting. I think I found my new plaything. These effects are so easy to create and just look so cool!

62 - White night

During the Nuit blanche de Montréal, we stopped by the Grande Bibliothèque where this artist created a comic strip over 4 hours. This was his last sheet.

The picture itself was hard to take because of the white screen, the lighting was pretty bad. I adjusted the exposure in post processing, but I'm still not happy with the final result. Can't be perfect all the time!

61 - Laying down the line

I really like this picture. It was taken as part of my photography class homework, on portraits. I love the overall effect, the yellow lines, the framing... I like the emotion it stirs up.

60 - Potato Picasso

Say hello to my new friend! I thought Mr. Potato Head would be a perfect addition to my photography kit, he's portable and interchangeable!

For this picture, I inserted a flashlight inside Mr tote and moved his limbs around.
